TBP Peer Exchange
The Trust-Based Philanthropy Peer Exchange is an online community where grantmakers come together to share tools, ideas, questions, and challenges as they deepen their trust-based practices.
It includes an email listserv as well as structured opportunities to connect with and learn from funder peers, both virtually and in person.
With 1,100 members and counting, this is a communal space for candid learning and support. We invite participants to show up fully as themselves: from sharing thorny problems to celebrating wild successes to offering practical tips and solutions.
Sample discussion topics have included:
How to support grantees when capacity is limited
Shifting to conversational reporting
Aligning endowments with missions
And much more
Who can participate: The Peer Exchange is open to grantmaking practitioners of all kinds who are curious about starting or deepening their work along the trust-based philanthropy continuum. We welcome a wide range of roles and grantmaking types: private and public foundations, intermediaries, DAFs, collaboratives, government grantmaking agencies, and internationally based funders. We also reserve limited spots for philanthropy infrastructure organizations and philanthropy consultants.
Community Agreements
The Peer Exchange is first and foremost a space for peer inquiry and learning in the context of trust-based philanthropy. We ask that participants not use the exchange for marketing, promotion, or pitching services. Please help us create a productive and supportive learning environment by following these guidelines:
1. Uphold trust-based values
2. Practice self-reflection
3. Be accountable to yourself and each other
4. Engage with respect
5. Practice confidentiality
