Are you a grantmaker that wants to start (or bolster) your trust-based journey?

Assess your starting point by filling out our self-reflection tool, which can help illuminate where you may want to focus your attention. Be sure to check out our Resources page, where we offer some handy guides with clear action steps, including the 6 Grantmaking Practices of Trust-Based Philanthropy and TBP in 4D: Using Trust-Based Values to Guide your Culture, Structures, Leadership, and Practices.

Are you a foundation or philanthropy-serving organization based in the U.S.?

The Trust-Based Philanthropy Project is made up of a network of practitioner-advocates who want to share their experiences, challenges, and insights in order to support institutional change toward the adoption of trust-based culture, values, and practices. If you work at a U.S.-based foundation or philanthropy-serving organization and need support making the case for a trust-based approach, you can request a speaker to present to your board, staff, or member funders. Please know that we are a small team, so we are not able to take on every request and we often identify opportunities to offer programs in collaboration with other organizations on the trust-based philanthropy journey.

Are you a grantmaking organization from anywhere in the world?

Any grantmaking organization looking to connect with peers and share tools, ideas, questions, and challenges in order to strengthen their trust-based approach are encouraged to join the Trust-Based Peer Exchange.

Are you a nonprofit looking for funding opportunities?

We recognize the challenging landscape of fund development and fundraising, and we see you. As a small nonprofit with a focus on supporting change in philanthropic culture and practice, we are unable to make recommendations for funding opportunities or connect nonprofits to prospective funders. Please note that we are not a grantmaking organization, and are unable to respond to inquiries from organizations seeking funding. If you're curious to learn about foundations that have embraced trust-based philanthropy, the Trust-Based Story Map is a good resource. We will continue to add examples to this map over time.
