Regional Advocacy
Trust-based funders across the United States are stepping up to the unprecedented challenges of this time — organizing locally, deepening collaboration, and mobilizing in support of nonprofits and the communities closest to home.
Some of these regional efforts are continuations from COVID times, like the work being done in Portland, Maine, while other groups, like a funder circle in the greater Philadelphia region, have catalyzed around actions the Trust-Based Philanthropy Project outlined to meet the moment in 2025.
These self-organizing cohorts are creating space for shared learning, collective action, and deeper relationships rooted in trust — because meaningful regional work depends on long-term collaboration and solidarity.
We’re helping weave together existing and new iterations as much as possible, supporting regions that continue to be revealed.
Are you interested in starting or joining a regional action cohort? Are you leading an effort in your region and want to connect it to the TBP network?
Building on Momentum
In the last 14 months, 200+ funders affirmed their commitment to moving in solidarity with nonprofits, mobilizing money in a trust-based way, and nurturing possibility to advance a healthy, just, and democratic society.
Their pledge helped catalyze a new wave of regional organizing as funders began asking:
What more can we do together locally?
How can we coordinate more deeply in our own communities?
What does trust-based philanthropy look like in action at the regional level?
Regional action cohorts are one emerging answer, and we're excited to be part of this movement.
