Jason McGill is the founder and principal of Justice Associates, LLC, a solo practitioner consultancy that focuses on partnering with philanthropic boards and executives.

The core of his work centers on advancing resilient organizational governance, at (primarily) community, family, and private foundations. He supports boards and executive teams at client foundations in developing and implementing governance policies and practices that amplify a foundation’s alignment with its values; strengthen resilient partnership between board and staff; and support productive, stable organizational transitions, including shifts and changes in long-term strategy as well as executive and board leadership and structure. He facilitates and guides boards and executive teams through collective learning and practice journeys that result in organizational clarity and shared focus.

Jason’s governance consulting is often combined with a range of organization-wide projects, including strategic planning and organizational development work. In all his work, his style of facilitation, coaching, and advising is centered on building trust, collaboration, honesty, and joy, all informed by his life as a practicing Quaker and his long engagement with the martial art of Aikido.

Jason earned AB and BS degrees at Cornell University and a Ph.D. at the University of Michigan.
