Lisa is a Senior Advisor with The Giving Practice at Philanthropy Northwest, working on projects for foundations, philanthropy-serving organizations, and public/partner partnerships to drive social change. Her content expertise includes leadership and pipeline development, racial equity, community philanthropy, and increasing opportunities for historically resilient communities.

Lisa is interested in using a tactical approach toward community building and helping clients design initiatives that work at the intersection of strategic planning, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and the realities of on-the-ground implementation.

Lisa comes to this work with experience working with foundations and their community partners to deepen the perceptions around how diverse people lead, follow, and give. She is a thought leader around the issue of philanthropy by people of color — who they are, what they give to, and why.

Lisa earned a bachelor’s degree in English modified with Latin American and Caribbean Studies from Dartmouth College, a master’s degree of arts and a master’s degree of philosophy in American Studies from Yale University, and a Ph.D. in American Studies from Yale University.
