Across this work, bringing deep expertise in philanthropy, social enterprise, decolonizing wealth and aid, leadership, power, and trust, as well as content experience in sectors such as climate adaptation and regenerative food systems
Abby is a Senior Advisor with The Giving Practice at Philanthropy Northwest with over 20 years of experience in philanthropy, early-stage nonprofit and for-profit ventures, environmental conservation, and sustainable community development in developing countries.
Previously Abby served as a philanthropic advisor with The Lemelson Foundation where she helped develop grantmaking strategies and review grant and early-stage impact investment opportunities to catalyze social innovation, entrepreneurship, and the launch and growth of triple-bottom-line companies around the world. In the first decade of her career with the United Nations and other international environmental organizations, Abby focused on stakeholder engagement to influence environmental policy.
Abby earned her M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. She also holds a B.Sc. in International Politics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
